Your farm data, connected on your terms

Your farm data, connected on your terms

The FairGrow API connects your crop records to your cooperative, your advisor, your accounting software and your planning tools, but only for the data you approve. You decide per partner and per type of data, and you can switch access off again with one click.

What a connection looks like

Your crop records at the centre, your data only where you said yes

Your crop records are where everything comes together. A planning tool can put planned jobs straight into them, and when you record a spray you pick the product from the official register of your country, so the authorisation number is filled in for you and the dose and pre-harvest interval are proposed. Purchase invoices read by the EasyData invoice recognition arrive as stock, with their purchase price.

From there, data only goes where you gave consent. Your accounting software reads hours, stock and sales. Your cooperative sees harvests and lot codes. Your advisor reads along and writes a field note back. A partner without consent gets nothing.

Example shown here: the product register, purchase invoices and a planning tool feed your crop records; the cooperative, the advisor and the accounting software have consent, the buyer does not. FairGrow does not do your bookkeeping itself; it connects to the package you already use.

How it works

From connection link to data flow in three steps

You never give a partner your password. You give permission, in FairGrow itself, and you can see at any time who has access to what.

STEP 01

The partner sends a link

Your cooperative, advisor or software supplier sends you a connection link. It opens FairGrow and shows you who is asking and which data they want to use.

STEP 02

You choose what to share

Tick exactly the permissions you are comfortable with, for example your fields and jobs, but not your sales or time entries. Consent applies per farm and per type of data.

STEP 03

The data flows, you stay in charge

The partner’s software retrieves only what you allowed. Under Connections (API) in your crop records you change permissions, view the history or revoke access.

Who connects

Less typing, fewer spreadsheets

Many growers keep the same records in several places: for the buyer, the cooperative, the certifier and the advisor. With a connection, the data you already keep in FairGrow goes to the right place by itself.

Cooperatives and buyers

Harvests with lot codes, plantings and the spray register, ready for quality checks and traceability without sending files back and forth.

Crop advisors

Your advisor sees fields, sensor readings and risk signals, and can leave a field note in your records after a visit.

Accounting and ERP software

FairGrow does not do your bookkeeping; your accounting package does. With your consent it reads time entries with hourly rates per member or team, stock, sales, purchase invoices and the cost price per crop, so hours and costs reach your books without retyping.

Planning tools

Plan your work in an external planning module and it lands in your crop records as a planned job. Once the work is done, you complete it in FairGrow and it counts for your register.

What you can share

Seventeen permissions, each with its own switch

A partner never gets “everything”. Each type of data is a separate permission, and a partner can only ask for the permissions FairGrow has approved for them.

Read permissions let a partner see data. They cannot change anything with them.

Writing and extras

Create jobsAdd field notesAdd harvestsE-mail addresses of farm members

A partner can only change jobs it created itself. E-mail addresses of your team are a separate permission; without it, a partner sees names and roles only. A completed spray job written by a partner goes straight into your register, so it stays complete.

Plant protection register

From the official register to a report that meets 2023/564

  • Pick the product from the official registerFairGrow keeps the authorisation registers of Germany (BVL), the Netherlands (Ctgb), Belgium, France, Switzerland and Finland up to date. Search by name, authorisation number or active substance and you see straight away whether a product is authorised, has a temporary exemption or has expired. FairGrow then proposes the dose and pre-harvest interval for your crop; you confirm them yourself.
  • A warning before you harvest too earlyRecord a harvest on a field where a pre-harvest interval is still running, and FairGrow warns you, in the app and through the API.
  • Complete, or it stays a draftA spray record only counts once every field from Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/564 is filled in. Until then it stays a draft, so nothing incomplete slips into your register.
  • Machine readable, ready for 2027From 2027 the records have to be kept electronically and machine readable. FairGrow exports the register as CSV, XLSX or JSON, with the columns in the order the regulation sets out.
  • The register stays with youThere is no central database: you keep the records yourself. FairGrow sends nothing to the authorities on its own. You decide when you hand over an export, and which partner may read the register through the API.

For developers

A modern REST API, built for sync

  • Secure sign-inAn API key per partner, or OAuth 2.0 with PKCE when the grower connects from your app. Keys are stored only as a hash.
  • Fast incremental syncRead everything once, then ask only for what changed since your last sync. Lists use cursor pagination.
  • Webhooks instead of pollingReceive a signed message as soon as a job is created or completed, a harvest is registered, a field note is published, an alert is raised or consent is revoked.
  • Safe to retryEvery write carries an idempotency key, so a retry after a network error never creates a duplicate.

Building software for growers?

Become an API partner

FairGrow gives API access to partners on request. Tell us who you are, what you want to build and which data you need. You get a partner account with your own keys, webhooks and a connection link to send to growers. The full technical documentation comes with your partner account.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

Can a partner see my data without my permission?
No. Every request is checked against your consent for that partner, that farm and that type of data. Without consent the partner gets nothing back.
How do I revoke access?
Open your crop records and go to Connections (API). There you see every partner with access, which permissions they have and how often they called in the last seven days. One click on Revoke access and the partner can no longer read or write anything. The partner also receives a message that consent was revoked.
Does FairGrow do my bookkeeping?
No. FairGrow is not accounting software. Your accounting or ERP package connects through the API and, with your consent, reads time entries, stock and sales. That way the hours and costs from your crop records reach your books without being typed in twice. The other way round, purchase invoices read by the EasyData invoice recognition come in as stock, and their purchase price lands in your cost overview.
Is my spray register sent to the authorities?
No. Under EU 2023/564 you keep the records yourself, and FairGrow does not send them anywhere on its own. When an inspector or certification body asks for them, you export the register as CSV, XLSX or JSON, or you let a partner read it through the API.
Which subscription includes API connections?
Connections to other systems are part of the Estate subscription. Only the owner of the farm can grant or revoke access; other team members cannot.
Where is my data processed?
All data is processed on our own servers in a Dutch data centre, and we are ISO 27001 certified. Every API call is logged for seven days with the partner, the endpoint, the farm, the status and the time, so it is always clear who retrieved what. Read more about who owns your data.
I am a developer. Where do I find the documentation?
The full API reference and a getting-started guide are available to approved partners. Contact us with your company and use case, and we will set up a partner account for you.
