Within the EU: proven Zigbee technology
For our European customers we build the FairGrow platform on certified, ready-made Zigbee sensors that are already widely available. That is a deliberate choice, not a compromise.
Zigbee is an open, energy-efficient standard that has more than proven itself in practice. Together the sensors form a robust mesh network, last a long time on a battery and are easy to expand. Because it is proven hardware, you benefit from a sharp price, fast delivery and long-term support.
On top of that comes European regulation. Every radio sensor placed on the EU market must comply with the Radio Equipment Directive and carry CE marking. For custom sensors that means an extensive and costly certification process, with testing costs that would make the price per sensor unaffordable for the average grower. By building on certified standard hardware within the EU, we keep the platform affordable and future-proof, without compromising on quality.
Outside the EU: custom sensors
In markets outside the EU the situation is different. There we do develop our own sensors, fully tailored to local crops, the climate and on-site conditions. Think of robust hardware for extreme heat, specific soil types or crops for which no standard solution exists.
This way every grower gets exactly what their situation requires: in Europe the certainty and convenience of proven technology, beyond it the flexibility of custom work.
One platform, at home everywhere
Whatever sensor is in the field, the FairGrow software stays the same. You get the same clear insights, the same irrigation advice and the same reliable data, wherever you grow.
Which sensors can I connect?
Sensors for temperature, humidity, soil moisture, light and energy. Within the EU we use proven Zigbee technology; outside the EU we fit custom sensor nodes built for local conditions.
How do the sensors send their data?
They connect wirelessly to your FairGrow account, and live readings appear on your dashboard automatically, with history and trends kept for you.
What if I grow outside the EU?
We match custom sensors to your region and conditions, so you get the same platform and dashboard wherever you grow.
How many sensors do I need?
