Draw your field, choose your drone, download your flight plan
Your fields are already in FairGrow. The Flight Planner turns them into a professional drone flight plan with a single click: perfect grid, right overlap, ready to fly. From a compact DJI Mini to heavy professional drones.
All you need to do is press start
FairGrow automatically calculates the flight lines over your field. Your drone follows them and photographs the entire area, with the right overlap for a sharp map. No grid to draw, no guesswork.
Example shown here: a field of 2.3 ha with a DJI Mini 4 Pro. The exact altitude, overlap and number of photos depend on your drone – the planner works that out for you.

From field to flight plan in three steps
No separate flight-planning app, no drawing grids by hand. Everything happens in the FairGrow dashboard you already know.
Select your field
Choose a field that’s already in FairGrow, or draw a new area on the map. The Flight Planner already knows the exact boundaries from your sensor and satellite view.
Choose your drone
Select your model from the list. FairGrow knows the camera, speed and limitations of every drone and instantly calculates image resolution, flight time and battery count.
Download and fly
You get a flight plan in the right format for your drone, with clear loading instructions. After the flight, your vegetation map appears alongside the satellite image in FairGrow.
One planner for every drone
Whether you’re starting out with a compact drone under 250 grams or flying professional kit: you use the same interface and the same fields.
Compact DJI drones
Mini 4 Pro, Air 3 and similar. Under 250 grams, so usable without heavy licensing requirements.
- Export as DJI flight plan (KMZ)
- Step-by-step loading instructions
- From small gardens to large orchards
DJI Enterprise
Mavic 3 Enterprise, Mavic 3 Multispectral, Matrice series. Import directly into DJI Pilot 2.
- Multispectral imagery (true NDVI)
- Large areas, high precision
- Native import, no workarounds
Other brands and custom drones
Flying a different brand or your own craft? FairGrow generates a universal flight plan using the same fields and settings, ready for you to load into your drone.
- Universal flight plan file
- Terrain following on sloped land
- No brand lock-in
From 10-metre satellite imagery to centimetre-level detail
- Everything in one platformSentinel-2 satellite images show you that something is happening on your field. Your drone shows you exactly where, down to individual plant level.
- No double administrationYour fields, sensors and flights all live in one place. Repeat a survey in two clicks and compare vegetation maps over time.
- Smart calculationsFairGrow works out overlap, image resolution and flight time for you. You can see before you fly whether the mission fits within a single battery.
- Our own European infrastructureYour flight data runs in our own data centre, in line with ISO 27001. Nothing leaves the platform.

How the Flight Planner stacks up
Every tool here excels at something; the question is which job you’re hiring it for. This is the landscape of drone flight software, grouped by approach, showing where each one delivers real value.
| Approach | What it is and pricing model | What you get back | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| FairGrow Flight Planner | Included in your FairGrow subscription, no separate licence. Works with 25+ drones (DJI, Autel and many other brands) and three export formats. | A flight plan with terrain following and airspace check, plus your vegetation map alongside satellite and sensor data in one platform. | Growers and farmers who want drone data in their crop decisions, without a separate mapping subscription. |
| Brand-native drone appsDJI Pilot 2, DJI Fly, DJI Terra | Included with the drone, but tied to one hardware brand; map processing (DJI Terra) is a separate paid licence. | Waypoint and mapping flights and orthomosaics within the manufacturer’s own ecosystem. | Those who fly entirely within one brand and handle processing separately. |
| Cloud mapping platformsDroneDeploy, Propeller, Measure | Brand-agnostic, subscription-based ranging from hundreds to thousands per year. | Professional orthomosaics, 3D models, team workflows and standalone crop analysis in the cloud. | Agricultural contractors and larger businesses with a dedicated mapping budget. |
| Photogrammetry suitesPix4D (capture + fields), Agisoft Metashape | Flight app plus powerful photogrammetry and analysis, per licence or subscription. | Scientifically precise maps, indices and reports, with a steep learning curve. | Agronomic consultancy and research that requires deep photogrammetry. |
| Standalone flight planner appsLitchi, UgCS, Dronelink | Low-cost one-off purchase or standalone subscription; flight only, no processing or platform integration. | Waypoint missions and terrain following; you connect the rest yourself. | Technical pilots who want to build their own workflow. |
| Drone scouting and analysisSolvi, Sentera FieldAgent, Skippy Scout, Taranis | Subscription-based, focused on image analysis and scouting; some include their own flight app. | Crop health, plant counts and scouting routes from drone imagery. | Those who primarily want crop analysis, independent of a crop management platform. |

Earn extra with your drone
Got a drone and want to do something with it? You fly, FairGrow provides the agricultural expertise. The platform turns your flights into a professional vegetation map, so you can help farmers and growers nearby to monitor their crops more closely. Your own drone and a FairGrow subscription are all you need to get started.
Good to know
What’s the minimum drone I need?
Any drone with support for waypoint missions will work. For DJI, that starts with the Mini 4 Pro and Air 3. The standard Mini 3 and Mini 4K don’t support waypoint missions; for those we offer a manual flying guide with overlap instructions.
Does FairGrow generate real NDVI maps?
That depends on your camera. With a standard RGB drone we create vegetation maps based on colour indices: visually strong and perfectly capable of identifying problem zones. For true NDVI you need a multispectral camera, such as the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral. FairGrow supports both and is upfront about this in the reporting.
How do I get the flight plan onto my drone?
With professional drones you import the file directly into the flight app. With compact DJI drones there are a few manual steps via USB; clear step-by-step loading instructions are included with the flight plan.
Am I allowed to fly over a field?
As a pilot, you are responsible for complying with aviation regulations. With a drone under 250 grams, the lightest requirements apply in the EU: operator registration is sufficient in most situations. FairGrow shows you the flight altitude and area so you can check in advance whether your flight is permitted.
